Reactive power optimization is an effective measure to keep power system safe and economical, and an important method to improve voltage profile. It is valuable to study the problem of reactive power optimization.To solve the actual reactive power optimization of SanMing local power system, the reactive power optimization algorithm based on sensitivity analysis is presented in this thesis. The main research work can be described as follows:A reactive power optimization algorithm based on sensitivity analysis is put forward. It calculates fast and can directly get the optimal sites and capabilities of capacitor compensating.The methods of sensitivity matrix, node-optimization and so on are valuable to improve the speed of algorithm. So this algorithm is practical for solving the reactive power optimization of the large power system.The actual operation conditions of SanMing local power system are analysed in this thesis. According to the different operation modes, the proposed algorithm calculates the optimal sites and capabilities of capacitor compensating. The validity and efficiency are confirmed by the numerical results.
