DSS is the new development phase of information system. Now, DSS have be important question for discussion in system engineering and computer application field. As an important method for modern management, DSS is a technology integration system, which syncretize computer technology, information technology, artificial intelligence, management science, decision science, psychology, organization theory. With the constant development of these subject, especially the development of computer technology and information technology, DSS gain the rapid development in many fields.With the rapid development of data warehouse and OLAP, they have developed a new way for DSS, and made Traditional DSS whose main content is model base system, supports decision through quantitative analysis turn to being driven by data, and made computer aid decision step into a new stage.Although these new technologies of data warehouse and OLAP are different forms compared to those support to decision from traditional models, they can be supplemented to each other, be joint with each other, and infiltrate to each other. The comprehensive integrated DSS, which composed of data warehouse and OLAP, data mine, model base and knowledge base system, is a more sophisticated from of DSS, and it is the development trend and the emphatic question for discussion of DSS.This paper researched and built the decision support system for price bidding of power plant, which is suit for the system reform of electric power in our country and can be adapted to the demands of the power market development.
