This thesis is dealing with two problems: harmonic analysis for electric arc furnace and simulation of harmonic restrain for electric arc furnace with active power filter.For AC electric arc furnace is an unbalanced, nonlinear and time variant load that produces unbalance, harmonics and interharmonics related with flicker effect. The modeling of all these aspects requires adopting a nonlinear, asymmetrical and dynamic v-i characteristic for the electric arc. In this thesis, we adopt a frequency domain model of electric arc, analyses harmonic and interharmonic of the electric arc furnace.The active power filter can compensate the harmonic of variety in magnitude and frequency. So we adopt active power filter to restrain harmonic of electric arc furnace, and a new method of detection adaptive electric arc furnace is presented, the result of simulation indicate that the method is proper.
