The study in fresh technology and equipment of Humidicool system is the fund project for Mechanical Technology Development, the number of which is 97JA0707, accomplished by the cooperation of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences and Food Institute of China Agriculture University. The research, which was identified in 9th, 2000, concludes, the computation about the main techo-parameter of a lOOt humidicool coldroom, the design of accessory and the test of the mainframe's performance.Appraisal shows that Humidicool system is an advanced and energy-saving technology for the precooling and freshing of perishable produce (e.g. fresh fruit, vegetable and flowers). Adopting the mechanical of refrigeration ,it makes ice with downhill consumption of electricity at midnight to obtain a good situation of high RH and low temperature for storage in the coldroom , which is very effective to the precooled and stored of fruits , vegetable and even flesh , with the transfer of heat and mass between the cold water of 0癈 and the air from the coldroom through the mixed heat exhanger .This system just a refrigerative technology with lower power and reduced operation cost , is quite suitable for the precooling and storing process of products in the field and in the market . It has a bright future of popularization and application in the present condition of our country .
