Study On The Internet Pattern Of VTMIS

The speedy development of computer network, multi-media and communication has brought great changes in every aspect of social life and of infoimation industry. The Internet will take us to a "Information high-way", make us easier to promulgate information, to consult information, to transfer information..In this paper, it based on analysis and investigation of many Vessel Traific Service in China, prescribing their present situation, deficiencies and development, a new idea of Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTM1S) is presented. Then the technique and function of Internet are introduced. By the application of Internet technique, the author presents his point of constructing an Internet-based VTMIS. Learning from other Web sites the author also discusses the overall design of the VTMIS Web site, and puts forward the detailed steps of the design. As last, the author set up a VTMIS Web site based on GuangZhou Vessel Traffic Service (VTS),then an initial design of VTMIS Web site project in it's constructed, tested and application is presented. And sincerely hopes this suggestion will help the development of "Maritime Information highway" in China.
