Research On The Heating Of The Ballast Water By Cooling Water Of Marine Diesel Engine

hi this paper, the heat treatment method of the ships' ballast water was deeply studied. The biological pollution of the non-indigenous organisms via ballast water was discussed in details, then some kinds of ballast water treatment measurements which have been in use or being investigated now were introduced, the research developments of the heat treatment of ballast water by marine engine's cooling water was presented particularly. The heat dissipation of the ballast water has been analyzed by the calculating model of the heat dissipation based on rational simplication. The waste heat that can be used to heat the ballast water was calculated based on MAN B&W 7S80MC type marine diesel engine. Then, the heat treatment method of the ships' ballast water was analyzed through exergy analysis, and its advantage was discussed. The primary designof the heat treatment system was discussed.This paper can offer some reference for further study of the heat treatment method and system.
