ABSTRACTDevice faults diagnose technology includes three basic parts: test technology, state monitoring and faults diagnose. Along with the a enhancing proportion of hydroelectricity in the whole electricity system in our country, the increase of the single unit capacity, the faults ratio of the large-scale hydropower units is more and more important to the whole system safe operation, if we don't manage it well, it will cause the collapse of the whole system and bring a great loss of country's economy, hi addition, accompany with " To dispart plant and grid, connect to the grid according to the price"put into practice, how to control the production cost of the power plant has to be put into consideration. To carry the unit faults diagnose system and change traditional plan periodic repair mode into the combination of plan repair with state repair, it will greatly reduce production cost and then enhance the competition ability of power plant. So the study of faults diagnose system and test technology of large- scale hydropower units is very impendency and important.This article is based on the actual situation of the large-scale hydropower plant. It describes the aim, meaning and content of device state monitoring and faults diagnose system and its application and development in and outside of the country, and also discuss the main fault type of large capacity unit, key technology and difficulty of this system. Make the most use of present test method to study the cause of fault, conformation of test parameters, suitable arrangement of the test spots, choose of sensors, criterion of faults and diagnose expert system,and take the vibration fault of hydrogenerator units as an instance, set up the vibration faults diagnose model.The last chapter of this article gives the vibration faults of the No. 14 unit of the Grand Channel power plant in Gezhouba as an example, explain the site test and fault analyzing and handle method.
