The study of urban traffic can be divided into three types, such as macroscopic, mesosopic and microscopic. This study about evaluation of signalized intersections is located in microscopic and it is established in mesosopic. In the beginning of this dissertation, the system characteristics of signalized intersections are analyzed and the correlative factors are discussed. Then the evaluation parameters system is set up by three sub-systems efficiency, safety and environment. Next, according to the former research and the collected data, the calculation and classification of the parameters are specified with quantitative or qualitative means. At last, the right of each parameter is calculated with AHP model and the evaluation system model is set up. The evaluation system can indicate the efficiency of vehicles, utilization rate of intersection, and the urban road-netware抯 demand for intersections. In the part of safety, not only motorized vehicles and non-motorized vehicles, but also pedestrians are regarded adequately. Basing on the fact in China, the case of management is included in evaluation of safety. In addition, environmental factors are considered which make the evaluation system integrated. With a case study, the research of this dissertation is proved practical.
