Stone pile is of great effects to the rate of ground consolidation, but increasing the bearing capacity is restrained, Although CFG pileis effective to increase ground bearing capacity, it is of little effect toground consolidation. Thus their excellent could be exerted to treatsoft soil foundation. This thesis investigate the mechanisim of CFGpile combines with stone pile.Using the Biot's theory of consolidation, a nonlinear seepage-deformation coupled FEM program is adopted which is used tocalculate the stresses, settlement and drainage-consolidation of afoundation which can be simplified as a plane or axial symmetryproblem. The thesis investigates the mechanisms and the magnitudeof the settlement and the rate of consolidation are obtained by usingthe Biot's theory of consolidation in such kind of combinedcomposite foundation. It shows that the combined compositefoundation has a much better bearing capacity than stone pile and hasa much better rate of draginage-consolidation than CFG pile.
