TGP power station, with large single and total installed capacity, will take an important role in the power grid. It is due necessary to do the research on hydro stability and vibration of 700MW turbine so as to guarantee safe operation of the power station and the power grid, as is a critical factor. This paper will start from the pressure impulse mechanism, systematically study the hydro stability and vibration of the turbine home and abroad, discuss the unstable cause led to, and develop the troubleshooting and the implementation. Continuously it will analyze the loss of the hydro stability and vibration of TGP 700MW turbine of which will probably occur in special operation. With the model test of wicket gate at. bO=0.30Dl to TGP turbine, it will put forward the key importance in the course of design and procurement to be taken into account and the compensation after putting into operation.With the reference of the experience and the lesson in the same type turbine together with the model test, this paper will put forward the key importance in design and procurement to be taken into account, and the compensation of the loss of the hydro stability and vibration in TGP 700mw turbine after putting into operation. Meanwhile it will take the consideration of the huge investment and uneasy condition for maintenance after operation. It will summarize as follows: to optimize design, to pay more attention of the model test in factory, to preset the generator at the maximum capacity and to rise the stable operation limitation at high water head. In turbine procurement, it will specify the obvious indexes, preset necessary and auxiliary measures about stability while in structural design, and try the efforts to make the turbine operation in high-quality operation scope while in field operation.
