This paper discusses and analyzes the rockfihl rheological and wetting deformation characteristics and there effects on the deformation of dam body in Concrete Face Rockfihl Dam(CFRD). (1) First, this paper reviews the development of CFRD and its studying actuality, the existing problems in the theoretical research of CFRD nowadays are brought forward. (2) Rockfihl deformation and strength characteristics and its constitutive relation are systemically and deeply studied. (3)The rockfill creep experiments have been processed and its constitutive model based on analyzing rockfill basic principle is proposed. (4) The experiment of rockfihl wetting deformation has been carried through and its numerical methods are discussed. (5) Based on the parameters obtained from the rockfihl creep experiments, the deformation characteristics of dam body in Gongbuxia CFRD which will be built is studied by contrast considering the rockfihl creep deformation with not considering it. The rationality of its creep model and the reliability of its creep parameters are verified. So a relatively reliable numerical analysis method is proposed to accurately predict CFRD抯 deformation characteristics. (6) Based on the experiment of limestone's wetting deformation, the displacement of the concrete membrane in Tianshengqiao CFRD is analyzed. A conclusion that the wetting deformation that is very important in the evening deformation of dam body should be paid greatly emphasis on the design and construction in CFRD is drawn.
