The Enlightenment Of Cubism To Modern Landscape Design

The link between landscape design and painting art is compact and interpenetrating. The developments of landscape design in different periods get benefits and nutrients from the forms and methods of painting creations in different periods. The plane languages and materials in canvas become gradually plentiful, which also enrich and broaden the expression mediums and reative space of landscape design.No matter the art style, the form, the creative approaches or the ideas, painting has a great effect which is direct or indirect on the developments of landscape design. This paper attempts to explore and research on the inspirations in form languages and expression methods that are drawn from the cubist paintings, which will provide contemporary landscape design with some unique visions and design thinking.This paper is divided into six parts,the first part is an introduction, which clearly and briefly introduces the research background, research purpose and meaning, research contents and framework of this article. At the same time, lists the relevant literature reviews both at home and abroad. The first chapter of the main body is an overview of the research of cubist paintings and relevant theories. This part describes the basic contents of cubist paintings, from its generation the development, the influence and its characteristics. In addition, this chapter cites several famous books like《Transparency》、《Space. Time. Architecture》and《Collage City》that greatly affect on the cubist paintings or gain enlightenment from cubist paintings to provide some theoretical guidance for the later chapter. The second chapter mainly explores the influences from cubist paintings on modern landscape design, which is researched from three aspects, they are the form language, space and time. The third chapter is aimed at using and combining with the above research basis, to analysis some outstanding modern landscape design cases under the perspective of cubism. The fourth chapter, on the basis of the theoretical study and practice analysis before, the author summarizes the effective design methods to modern and contemporary landscape design from the view of cubist paintings. The fifth chapter is an experimental design project that is guided by the above research results.The last part of this paper is the conclusion, which is combining with the key points from the above chapters, to make a summary about the research results, the deficiencies and innovations of this paper.
