Multi-mode EFP warhead is a hotspot in the domain of warhead recent years. And the liner cutting technology-that is, fragment forming technology-is one of the key technology for the research and development of this type of warheads. Based on the need of the development of domestic multi-mode EFP warhead technology and by the means of combining theory analysis, experimental study and numerical simulation, the feasibility of fragment destroy mode realized in multi-mode EFP warhead with the cutting meshwork method was studied. The results showed that mesh cutting for the liner of EFP warhead could be achieved with the cutting meshwork formed by linear shaped charge. After the explosion of the warhead, the cut liner could be split into many dispersed fragments due to partial impair and stress concentration effect generated by the cutting grooves and the velocity difference inside the liner, which finally enabled the fragment destroy mode of the warhead to be realized.The study results of this paper provide some reference for the design of multi-mode EFP warhead’s fragment destroy mode.
