In the aerospace manufacturing, as the product structure, the process planning and functional requirements are becoming more and more complex, the traditional guide way which is called 2D Process is no longer suitable for work instruction. Along with the development of the 3D product design and process, the aerospace manufacturing enterprises are need of executing the manufacture in a 3D manner in order to apply the 3D digital to the whole life cycle of a product. Two main issues are meant to be resolved to achieve this goal: first, the question of how to obtain, organize and display the work instruction in a quick way; the second issue is how to help workers read the work instruction and give feedback on it.This paper focuses on the issue that the organization of the work instruction and the natural interaction in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Based on the analysis and research of the aerospace manufacturing, this paper clearly defines functional requirements of a work instruction, develops an overall architecture of a 3D work instruction in the aerospace manufacturing. This research uses an ontology modeling software which is called Protege. Based on the ontology organization method of the work instruction, the research in this paper accomplishes the self-organization of a work instruction in a quick way by mapping data of the process, the manufacturing resource and so on. Based on the study above, this paper focuses on the 3D product model and analyzes the natural interaction of a work instruction during the manufacturing process. This paper proposes a natural interaction method based on Leap Motion somatosensory sensor. It develops a user model of the natural interaction by analyzing roles in a workshop. It also establishes a gesture library considering display characteristics of the work instruction and requirements of users. Above all, this paper studies the gesture acquisition and recognition and do a user test for the natural interaction program,then make analysis and evaluation of the natural interaction effectConsidering all these researches above and characteristics and requirements of the aerospace manufacturing, this paper develops a work instruction software system by using JENA, Ajax, Dom4j and also other technology based on JAVA language. This paper also uses Leap Motion somatosensory sensor to complete the development of the natural interaction.system. The validity and the feasibility of this system are proved with an instance.
