Transmission line and tower bar are important infrastructure of power grid. Power transmission lines with wide coverage are throughout urban and rural areas of the country, and stability and safety of them are directly related to the reliability and safety of power grid. Because the working environment is complex and diverse, transmission lines and tower rods are susceptible to interference and damage. The influence of birds is one of kinds.With the enhancement of people consciousness of environmental protection and the improvement of state of wild animal protection measures, the number of birds grow with each passing day. Although the birds are the friends of mankind, which brings a lot of benefits for human, when the birds staying and nesting in the transmission line tower bar will seriously affect the safe operation of transmission lines. Transmission line rod has the characteristics of high from the floor and solid, and many birds like nesting in this environment without human interference. In order to reducing the birds influence on transmission line, now the driving birds method commonly used in power system is a windmill to install online bar, or bird proof sting, but the effect is not ideal, so people often in the field can see many birds staying on line bar or transmission line with the bird’s nest bar. This practical problem need solving urgently.According to the bird habit of avoiding harm, we designed a practical device of driving birds. The device is a detector based on HB100 microwave module, HB100 microwave module can accurately detect the bird mobile; using the STC12C5204 AD single chip with the characteristics of fast operational speed, strong anti-interference ability, low cost as the processing chip; in order to achieve the objective of flooding birds, the device is also fitted with the electric machine driving the swing arm, frequency buzzer with 11 kinds of frequency, and red, yellow, green LED lamps. Through the combination of the swing arm, the buzzer sounds, flashing LED lights and the device of driving birds achieve the purpose of driving birds.In addition, this bird driving device has a set of independent solar power supply system. In the power supply system, solar panels supply power, and lithium batteries store power, which realizes the effective use of electricity. In order to save electricity, the system also has a unique automatic power-off system. The evening activities of the birds are less, and at night the device of driving birds do not work by the automatic power-off system.The device of driving birds can effectively identify moves of the object. In the detection range, it can successfully detect birds. But for no birds, like plastic bags, it won’t act. The system can automatically identify the rainy days, snow days, wind days and other inclement weather, and in this bad weather it will sleep in order to avoid the damage.After a long time of laboratory test and field experiment, the device of driving bird works stably and reliably with effective and long operation time, and drives birds with high success rate. In addition, fully automated way to work makes it out of manual check and repair, which saves power capital maintenance a lot for the major power companies. The device powered by solar energy with no harm to human, bird and environment is a green bird driving device. The effective driving birds function, reliability of technology, energy saving, diversity of bird scaring mode, high performance price ratio and urgent need of power systems of the device determines the value of scientific research, broad application prospect.
