With the development of armor, many new weapons are explored. During studying target vulnerability by experimental method and evaluating anti-vehicle weapon performance, if using the real target plate, test cost is too high. Using equivalent target is a simple, economic, convenient method. Armor is equivalent to homogeneous armor, which can simplify damage research.This article mainly focused on 3/3/3 explosive reactive armor (ERA) using method of combining theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental research. Interference factors of ERA on jet were analyzed, including angle of ERA. Simulation calculation is used to calculated relationship between residual penetration and interference factors. Theory model of jet penetrating spaced target is established and the influence of thickness and space is analyzed. Based on equivalent criterion of residual penetration, combing with theoretical calculation and numerical simulation results, equivalent target model was established under the condition of different impact spot and angle of ERA.The main research content of this article includes the following aspects:(1) The interference mechanism of ERA on jet was studied. Under different impact points and angels, interacting models were established to analyze residual penetration. The residual penetration is max when the impact point is the origin with 133.5mm, which is symmetrical on the origin. The residual penetration decreases with the increase of angle.(2)The theory model of double spaced target interfering shaped jet was set up. The influence of space was simulated by Ls-dyna, the error between them is 1.2%. The influence of target plate thickness is studied for residual penetration by established three kind’s model with different thickness, and error between theory and simulation is 8.6%.(3) The method of establishing ERA equivalent target and equivalent criterion were analyzed. Research was carried on different impact points and angles to the establish ERA equivalent target. Under the residual penetration rule of equivalent, equivalence relationship was explored between ERA and thickness and space of spaced target.(4) To verify correctness of theory and simulation, test of penetration depth and jet penetrating spaced target were designed. Stand-off curve was obtained. Average penetration depth of jet penetrating spaced target is 89mm, theory depth is 97.7mm, and the relative error is 8.9% which can meet the requirement of the engineering application.
