The destructions of traditional steel structure system are brittle failure at the connections in most of earthquake.Separate structural system is proposed based on beam-column articulated. Separate structural system meanseach resistance system respectively carry out the independent function, and functional division is clear. the different resistance system independently resist the vertical load and the horizontal load. This paper mainly research on the seismic performance of separate structural system and listed the main works the writer has done as follows.1. The writer designed and manufactured the model of a six layers –two spansseparate structural system steel frame.Besides, the writer did the materialtest of the steel.2. At the very beginning of the experiment, the writer used the flat noise to sweep the structure for its frequency, and after each of the conditions done, the writer used the same way to find out the change of the structure’s frequency, in order to find out the changeofrigidity of the structure.3. A test model ofsix layers –two spansseparate structural system steel framewas determined and executed to the shaking table test.During the vibration, the writer observed the structure’s response of the displacement and acceleration and contrast the result with the ANSYS analyzed and the lateral displacement and interlayer displacement and energy dissipation of structural model of the test under seismic action was studied..The comparison proves that the shaking table test and ANSYS analyzed matchs well.4. The writer builta full-scale separate structural system steel frame by using theANSYS finite element analysis software.ANSYS was used to carry out time-procedure analysison separate structure and contrast the result with the push-over analysis to evaluate the compound seismic capability of the separate structural system.
