With the continuously development of economy in our country, and the power of the social production the living is more and more big, the electric system will be increasingly complex, the security of electric system will be more important than before, Role of pumped storage power station in the electric system from peak regulation and frequency medulation become into the security tool in the electric system,In the maintenance of electric system security at the same time. Its own security must be guaranteed,Pumped storage power station transition process of hydraulic unit is the main factor threat power plant safe operation, The design of the early stage of the pumped storage power station construction and later operation to the calculate of the transition process is one of the main problem of power station.In this context the paper research transition process of hydraulic unit.In this paper, a pumped storage power station in southern power grid as an example to the simulation calculation of the transient process of hydraulic unit. From theory to simulation conducted in-depth research.First of all, summarizes the development of hydropower industry in China and The basic principle of pumped storage power station and its composition, job characteristics and role in the power grid and the trend of development in domestic and overseas.at the same time this paper introduces the principle of transient process. Second the paper deduce the motion equation and continuity equation of hydraulic unit transient process、introduce the calculation method of characteristic method、improve the complete characteristic curve of reversible pump-turbine.Finally when I know the basic information about this pumpes storage power station,for reversible pump-turbine I use Matlab/simulink software simulate calculation the biggest pressure of ball valve upstream side、the maximum dynamic water pressure of the end of spiral case、the vacuum of draft tube and the maximum speed rise of reversible pump-turbine. The simulate calculation include five conventional conditions、 eleven special conditions and two superposed conditions.the paper concluded that the calculation results and simulation figure.The author give some measures to improve the large oscillation transient process.At the same time the author simulation calculate the maximum output、the minimum output、the highest surge water level and the lowest surge water level for hydraulic unit when the pumped storage power station occur small oscillation transient process and hydraulic disturbance.For the early stage of the design of the same kind of pumped storage power station and the late operation to provide the reference.
