From The Garden To The Landscape City

In the contemporary, building the sustainable development of residential environment becomes the mainstream of the era. There is the trend of urban construction that pursue the harmonious among human and nature in the "Shan-shui" City. The sense of belonging and happiness is the goal of city image. Today, appeared bad phenomena such as fuzzy space image, serious environmental pollution and missing historical context in the process of urbanization. These phenomena have to let us to think what is the purpose of city construction. The"Shan-shui" City is the inheritance and the development of Chinese traditional garden. The image of the "Shan-shui" City is based on the traditional garden concept about the overall perception of ecology, culture and landscape. It is the spirit place which can integrate playing, living and feeling. From the garden to the "Shan-shui" City, sharping the city image of "mountain, water, city, forest" is the pursuit of better living environment.There has a strong practical significance to shape the "Shan-shui" City and the image based on the traditional garden concept..Nanjing as the capital of JiangSu Province, has the superior natural environment and rich historical resources.Since the modern times,the natural environment is ignored. And caused serious environmental pollution and the lack of historical context in the process of urbanization. Therefore, we should use the traditional garden concept to guide the construction of the "Shan-shui" City in Nanjing. Shaping a good image of "mountain, water, city, forest", and providing a reasonable thinking for the construction of ecological city and good living environment.This article is composed of two parts: one is the theory analysis which started from reading the "Shan-shui" City and image as the breakthrough point. Through analysis of the spatial layout, landscape practices and gardening ideas in traditional garden. Looking for the connection between shaping the image of "Shan-shui" City and the analysis. Then guide us to shape the image of "Shan-shui" City. Another is theory application which started from analyzing landscape and urban image in Nanjing. Emphatically compared to ancient and modern "Shan-shui" City image of Nanjing,and made the investigation or research. Drawing people’s overall image about the "Shan-shui" City of Nanjing. Based on the traditional garden concept, combined with the natural landscape environment. Shaping the "Shan-shui" City image of Nanjing can solve some related problems in urbanization construction. From three aspects of macro, medium and micro elements to shape "Shan-shui" City image of Nanjing. On the macro level, mainly shaping the "Shan-shui" City—the overall architecture of three-ring envelops. On the medium level, From the perspective of the ecology, culture and landscape to sharp the image of "Shan-shui" City about ecological green space system, culture and natural space, landscape feature image. On the micro level, using the strategy about the public space, construction pattern and the road layout to build the "Shan-shui" City image of Nanjing.
