Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of mountain cities, buried pipelines in the mountainous cities were used widely. The characteristics of mountain city's municipal pipes were varied topography, and with complex geological conditions. The buried pipelines of mountain city often through slopes, so the unsymmetrical pressure phenomenon always exists.Soil around the buried pipeline is not only the load, but also the constraint to the pipeline which is a special structure. The deformation of the pipeline would compress the surrounding soil, and the elastic resistance of the compressed soil would prevent the deformation of the pipe to continue. The analysis on distribution of earth pressure around pipeline was the basic of stability calculation and structure design of the pipes. In view of this, by laboratory model test and finite element analysis based on elastic theory were done to calculate and analyze the distribution of earth pressure and transverse mechanical behavior of pipeline in slope. In this paper, the main research content and conclusions are as follows:â‘ Based on the inspection of relevant literature, summary of the research on distribution of the soil pressure around the pipeline and the mechanical behavior of pipe was done. This summary included the previous research results of the pipe-soil relative, soil properties and topography effect on the soil pressure around the pipe and the mechanical behavior.â‘¡An indoor pipe model test had been done, the test focused on the characteristics of the distribution of the soil pressure around the pipeline. Then analysis of the different when the pipe located in different location in slope was done.â‘¢Based on the comparative analysis between the method of the distribution of the soil pressure around the pipe and the test data, the advantages and disadvantages of several existing methods were pointed out.â‘£Through quantitatively comparative analysis between the pipe by load structure method and ground structure method, the impact of the pipe internal forces by slope parameters and soil parameters were analyzed when using two different methods. Methods and results of this study would provide some guidance to section design, construction and location selection of shallow pipelines in slope.
