Chain-drive wind machine as a new type of device to get the wind power which compared with the horizontal axis wind machines has high wind energy utilization efficiency, good mechanical properties of blades, easy installation, and low cost advantages, there are potential applications, but its aerodynamic performance also needed to be studied. Knowing the fluid dynamics mechanism of chain-drive wind machine and studying the optimization of its structure to achieve higher dynamic properties, it is the basis for promoting the use in the future.Numerical simulation of fluid is compared with the experimental study which has the unique advantages, such as low cost, short cycle, get the complete data, to simulate the actual operation of the measured data of various states, the trend of the subjects was able to accurately forecast out which can reduce the determination number of test laboratory, shorten the design process, reduce product development costs, it is played an important guide in the design, renovation and development work.In this paper, numerical simulation fluid dynamics software Fluent which was used in new- type chain-drive wind turbine blade and the flow at different angles and different wind speed condition to numerical simulate the aerodynamic performance of three-dimensional flow field, to simulate whole machine and the blade flow field flow pattern for observed whole machine and the blade surface pressure distribution, velocity distribution, flow velocity vector map and so on, and calculate the new-chain drive type wind turbine wind energy utilization coefficient, compared with the experimental data to verify numerical simulation the aerodynamic performance of wind turbine reliability.In this paper,For the new-type chain-drive wind turbine aerodynamic performance characteristics, proposed a feasible idea of numerical calculation and compared with the experimental result, numerical simulation can be got the consistent with the experimental wind energy utilization coefficient of variation affected by the wind speed. Analyzing and discussing on the numerical simulation results to observe the blades surface pressure distribution, velocity distribution, flow velocity vector maps and so on, intuitive and quantitative understanding and observation of leaves and whole machine aerodynamic characteristics and flow phenomena, and its pressure, flow rate and other important aerodynamic parameters of the distribution, it is lay the basis of simulation analysis for the optimization of the structure of the device in the further. The blade deformation of new-type chain-drive wind turbine is very small in the under of the 8m / s wind speed range, so the numerical simulation process can be simplified to the ideal flat blade. Because of the wind turbine blades are the flexible blades, it will bend when the wind blows over and with the increasing of the wind speed, the deformation becomes larger. Through the simulation and the experimental results obtained: when the wind speed over 8m / s, the blade geometry can not be used to approximate the form of flat blades.
