There exits strong connections between cascade stations in the aspects of electric and hydraulic, however, the traditional isolated hydropower generation model lacks the consideration for these complicated relationships thus can't satisfy the needs for the joint operation and management of these cascade stations. At the same time, as the numbers of the cascade stations increase quickly, the problem becomes more complicated, the traditional algorithm may encounter the problem that can't obtain the satisfied results quickly because of its certain limitations. Thus it calls for new solution for these problems. On this basis, we make detailed investigations and analysis about the hydropower operation system of the actual cascade stations, establish the new mathematics models, and introduce the intelligent searching technology into solving various actual engineering problems, which shows great practical value.At the very beginning, we introduce the background and research meaning of our work, and discuss the present situation for the cascade generation optimal problem, as well as the future trend of the generation operation application system. According to the on-site investigation, for the problem that the calculated discharge from Three Georges reservoir doesn't equal with the actual inflow of the downstream hydropower station ,we constructed several curve fitting functions through analyzing the influencing factors of the correction coefficient and optimizing its parameters using the improved differential evolution algorithm. Then, we conclude the mid-long generation plan methods under different controlling modes, and realize this compute platform. Besides, we constructed the mid-long term generation optimal operation model and proposed the methods to handling the constraints with certain destroy sequence and degree, which can effectively guarantee the convergence of the calculation process. Meanwhile we develop an algorithm that takes the mechanism of two populations, separately evolving with different evolution processes of DE and PSO, and take information exchange measures to sustain the diversity of the population and avoid trapping into local optimum. Subsequently, we make study on the short-term generation fields and discuss the optimal distribution of the water head between two cascade stations with hydraulic connections. After explaining the calculating principle, we give the concrete realizing method. At last we introduce the crucial skills and technology of realizing the cascade stations generation system, make detailed design in the system function and database. Also we give the design method for the cascade reservoirs classes and algorithms based on the design pattern, which guarantee the system with good expansibility.
