Study On The Defining And Guidance Control Of The Urban Predominant Color

In today's rapid urbanization, colourful buildings side by side, colored neon billboards filled with our vision, so people began to re-examine urban construction. Color is the most powerful visual language and it is always the expression of the characteristics of the city. However, city is facing the improper use of color, poor management and the visual pollution. A growing number of cities are in search of their home city, but totally the similar colors and a grey embarrassment. To ease the city's "character crisis" urban-type variety, suitable city's domain color can express its own characteristics. Facing these problems, the author tries to study the urban color's decision-making and its application research findings.This dissertation is an investigation of the un-completed research on the urban predominant color. Based on the summary of the urban color's decision-making and its application research findings, the dissertation expects to find the reasonable defining method of the urban predominant color and propose the method to form the predominant color. The research on the urban predominant color is a careful inspection on the urban characteristic system from the alternative angle in order to propose the new method for the urban color's design and application. It provides certain references for the urban color's design and application management, therefore this dissertation for the master's degree has important research and practical significance. At the same time, because there are no domestic and foreign completed researches on the urban predominant color's definition and the guidance implementation theory, the dissertation also has the innovation significance.Firstly,the dissertation elaborates the urban predominant color 's concrete connotation and the relevancy of the urban color and the urban characteristic. Then, the dissertation analyzes the urban color's influencing factors and finds out the contributing factors of diverse urban predominant color. After that it elaborates the urban predominant color's localization basis and procedure, and summarizes the domestic and foreign urban predominant color characteristic, then discusses the determine method for the urban predominant color. The 5 Chapter gives the suggestions to manage the effective guidance control after the city's predominant color determination. The 6 Chapter, based on the practice project which the author participated, elaborates the determination and the guidance control method of the urban predominant color.In the end, the dissertation gives author's main conclusion that is the urban predominant color has the important meaning in the urban characteristic construction, and the determination and guidance control method of the urban predominant color has the instructive and practical function to find their own color characteristics for the different cities. At the same time, the author also gives the suggestions on the related researches which need further study.
