The Research Of Application Of New Technologies In The Old Building Renovation

The new technology is a relative concept. The object of this study is firstly the relatively frontier technologies in every branch of the field of construction technology, further the emerging technologies which can be used to renew the old buildings. From the perspective of the old building renovation, the study classify the new technologies which are within the scope of this thesis from six aspects ----space adjustments, improvement of the physical environment, energy policy adjustment, update of external image, Preservation and Restoration of historic buildings, design process---- which are related with the old building renovation. By summarizing the corresponding conventional technologies and pointing out their difficulties and limitations, the thesis will discuss the advantages and sustainable significance of the new technologies. In addition, every chapter offers some examples of the projects of old building renovation. These projects are the classic examples of using new technologies to solve problems. They can provide us a reference for the future practice.
