Tourbillon mechanical watch is one of the world's top three classic mechanical watches, which represents the highest level in watchmaking field and has been chased after by all the world's top watchmaking groups because of its delicacy. The thesis focuses on tourbillon mechanical watch, conducts a study on the development history, theory, and the structure of the tourbillon pieces, describes the reason why tourbillon can improve the accuracy of mechanical watch and introduces the design of dual-axis tourbillons in parallel connection. The thesis includes the following works:1. Summarization the development history of tourbillion mechanical watch, presentation of its basic definition, and forecasting the future trend of tourbillion pieces.2. Analysis of the background of the tourbillon mechanism, interpretation of how it can improve the accuracy of mechanical watch, and introduction of the gear train which consolidate the basic theory of tourbillon mechanism;3. Detailed explanation of the evolution of tourbillion mechanism, introduction of the structure and the theory of the Breguet-style tourbillon and its unique escapement, and analysis of the characters of both two kinds of fly-type tourbillons as well as comparison between them.4. Analysis of two adjusting manners of tourbillon mechanical watch—with and without a regulator, completion of the design of non-regulator balance in tourbillon mechanical watch, preliminary study of the factors that affect the accuracy of the tourbillon mechanical watch, interpretation of some problems during finishing process and the structures of different kinds of tourbillons, methods for solving the aforementioned problems, completion of the design of regulation device in Breguet-style tourbillon mechanical watch.5. Explanation of the concept and the development of dual-axis tourbillons in parallel connection, quotation of TRIZ Inventive Problem Solving Theory which is helpful for the analysis on the single planetary differential control system, introduction of the multi-planetary differential control system, and the completion of a new design of dual-axis tourbillons in parallel connection.
