With the development of society, people are endlessly seeking new large space; the spans and scale of buildings became larger and larger; and structure forms became more and more rich. In the last thirty years, various large span structures in the world has been greatly developed, while many large-scale long-span spatial structures are constructed. The spatial structure in our country is in a boom time, however, compared with foreign countries, in the spatial structure forms, especially surface structure forms are still monotonous, and can not satisfy the growing needs of the community.Structural morphology studies the relationship between structural shape and force in the whole to seek harmonization between them. It is valuable for space structure to have rational structure forms to resist loads in high efficiency, so studying on morphology is of great significance the for spatial structure. This article introduces the structure morphosis method of free-form surface"Height Adjustment method", surface structure by the method is taken as the object of this paper. The stress state of the surface structure by the method is in-plane stress according to existing research record, but the stability, dynamic characteristics and dynamic response, etc of this structure do not have system research. In this paper, mechanical property analysis is carried on for three different surface models using finite element analysis software. The results of double nonlinear stability analysis show ultimate load and stable performance increase with the number of evolution. the analysis of dynamic characteristics demonstrate for the three models, natural frequency are very intensive, and the vibration characteristics were improved with the optimization process .Structural time history analysis shows that the dynamic response of the optimized structure significantly reduced.
