With respect to extremely important position of assembly in aircraft manufacture, assembly process design and simulation play more and more important roles in modern aircraft design, manufacture and assembly. While the technology of advanced aircraft assembly process and simulation has been applied in the aircraft industry, it can strongly improve the productivity of aircraft assembly, shorten the cycle of aircraft manufacturing, reduce the rate of assembly rework, ensure the quality of aircraft assembly and generate significant economic benefit.This paper discusses the technology of aircraft assembly process and simulation based on the aircraft fuselage. The main contents are as follows:(1) Aircraft assembly process planning: On the basis of the summary and analysis in traditional aircraft assembly process, the paper focuses on the research of aircraft assembly cell division, location method, assembly reference, coordinated method and assembly fixtures oriented automatic assembly.(2) Advanced aircraft fuselage assembly program: In view of the aircraft assembly process planning, the paper analyzes the assembly level and process of certain commercial aircraft aft fuselage, expounds in detail the specific assembly programs and procedure of panel assembly, fuselage semi-cylindrical pieces assembly, fuselage semi-cylindrical pieces docking, upper and lower semi-cylindrical pieces docking in certain commercial aircraft.(3) Aircraft assembly simulation based DELMIA: According to the features of DELMIA, this paper studies the methods of assembly sequence planning based on disassembly and components recognition, it also proposes the methods of assembly path planning based on the reversibility of disassembly and assembly. Then,this paper discusses the technology in modeling oriented automatic assembly, definition of automatic equipment and fastener information extraction, and it gives rules of equipment modeling and kinematics chains, also it realizes the algorithm of a batch of fasteners information extraction.On the basis of the research above, the technology mentioned above is applied in the automatic assembly line simulation of certain commercial aircraft aft fuselage. Simulation results show that the rationality and feasibility of aircraft fuselage assembly process planning, advanced fuselage assembly program and assembly simulation technology are validated.
