Prestress suspendome is a new type spacial structure system, which is composed by the cable dome and tensegrity system with single-layer spherical reticulated shell. Compared to single-layer spherical reticulated shell structures, stiffness and stability are improved effectively. Contrasted to cable dome, designing, constructing and joint treatments are simplified much more easily. The suspen-dome can be applied to much more large-span of the spatial structure and has a good application prospect.This paper introduced the characteristics, composition and classification of suspendome structure, summarizing research status and achievements at home and abroad, puting forward the suspendome structure problems need to be solved. By ANSYS finite element, linear theory analysis of suspendome structures was going on. And through a lot of parameter analysis, such as rise-span ratios, boundary conditions and prestress, static performance of suspendome was deeply researched and summarized.By considering the initial geometric imperfection and form of live—load distribution, analysis was carried out respectively for the suspendome and single-layer spherical reticulated shell of five types of rise-span ratios on eigenvalues buckling, nonlinear buckling, nonlinear limit bearing capacity. The load - displacement equilibrium path tracking analysis and comparison was also proceeded, and expounding each performance of the suspendome. Compared with single-layer spherical reticulated shell, the superiority of the suspendome structure was verified. Through the analysis of parameters variation, such as cable prestress, struts height, rise-span ratios, cable layout, boundary conditions, live—load asymmetric distributions and initial defects, which have an influence on the suspendome's ultimate bearing capacity, node displacement and internal force of component, some rational parameters were summarized, which were applicable to the suspendome structure, such as rise-span ratios, struts height, cable prestress and cable layout.To sum up, this paper systematically studied the parameters variation, which have an influence on the suspendome structure stability, such as initial defects, cable prestress, struts height, rise-span ratios, cable layout and live—load asymmetric distributions. And obtaining the corresponding conclusions and characteristics. Then the whole process of load - displacement equilibrium path tracking analysis was carried out to summarize the suspendome buckling process and buckling position. Finally, the existing problems of the research of the suspendome structure is summarized and prospected.
