The development of automobile industry and consumers'demand for vehicle ride comfort jointly promote automotive electronics. At present, vehicle electronic parts not only play the role as auxiliary entertainment system, but also are applied more in brake control and navigation system on the car body, giving a further boost on automotive electronics technology toward electronics, information, and network.The household automobile vehicle has a variety of electronic wires and different shapes of connectors, both the mechanical and electrical characteristics of which directly determine the control performance. This subject comes from the actual production, that is, the test system proposed by Changchun FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Company Electric Division on the performance of vehicle connectors. The system will be applied on the purchased vehicle connectors to test their reliability, in order to enhance product quality, and improve production efficiency.This system provides efficient and professional testing capability on the mechanical and electrical performance of vehicle connector for FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Company Electric Division, with the function of automatically detecting of the insertion force dynamic curves, measuring and depicting the contact resistance curves inside the connector, and giving the test report.A small electronic system based on embedded CPU is built completing the function such as motion control, data acquisition, results analysis and so on. System takes TMS320F2812 as core controller, builds the hardware platform combining with CNC slide and pushing force sensor module, designs the system firmware with CCS3.3 for development environment based on C language, and uses the VB6.0 development tools to design the control platform and data processing software. Based on the given principle of each system module and the overall system solution, a detailed presentation about the design of the system hardware, firmware and client software is made in this paper. The system alignment results and data compensation correction are given at last, and describes the system test findings.The system realizes slide control, data acquisition, data processing and other related functions, and perfects the function to test the performance of vehicle connectors demanded by the application needs. The actual operation effect is good and the test precision meets the requirements well.
