As factory of the compilation of trains,marshalling yards is mainly in charge of adaptation of train traffic stream, own relatively complete technical facilities, handle technical operation of freight trains and wagons. Operative plan compilation works is the core of dispatching and conducting of marshalling yards, its quality directly affected the order and efficiency in marshalling yards transportation production. Therefore, as the core issue of transportation production theory, the optimize compilation problem of marshalling yards operation plan is always the focus of transportation experts and scholar pay attentiont to.In order to achieve the informatization of dispatching operation plan and the automation of compilation methods, the first issues is to establish the compilation model and design the solving algorithm. previous studies focused on queuing theory, computer simulation and artificial intelligence, but because of marshalling yards dispatching problem is a very complicated issue, which involves many factors, it is difficult to use a complete mathematical model to express the issue, and there was no precise algorithm to solve the modle. After several decades of research, it has acquired tremendous achievement, but there is still much room for improvement in the establishment of models and the design of algorithms.In terms of actual situation, our country's marshalling yards operation plan compilation is not quite intellectualized and automatized, most of the stations are still using a pen,a piece of paper,a telephone as the dispatching way,the compilation quality couldn't sufficiently fit in the existed request of marshalling yards dispatching and conduction works. Accomplish with the constant propel of state's railway informationized engineering, further research on both theory and method of marshalling yards operating plan optimize to enhance intellectualized decision making ability and seek for efficient procedure of marshalling yards operation plan optimization compilation becomes a burning question.This paper has analysed the on-site operations of station, take the stage plan which include in marshalling yard operation plan as the main study object, and made a detailed analysis about the basic content of the stage plan and the theory issue of the stage plan optimization compilation.On this basis, has established the mathematical model of the stage plan optimization compilation about single-hump, one make-up shunting locomotive at the end peak and double-hump, many break-up and make-up shunting locomotives at the end peak. And has designed a genetic algorithm to solve the above-mentioned model, finally, the algorithm has been verified validity and feasibility by an example, can meet the need that the phase plan do real-time adjustment on-site, it has important guiding significance for computer automatic compilation the stage plan.
