Cabin Design is an important part of the design of civil aircraft. In the design process, multiple drawing layouts are needed for different cabin design solutions, which involve considerable repetitive work in the project modification. Meanwhile, the cabin comfort and economy should be taken fully into account on the premise of the security assurance. This paper has met the requirements in the design, with the detailed research work as following:(1) Narrow-bodied aircraft cabin design method has been studied. In accordance with the relevant airworthiness regulations, we have studied the design requirements and process of the narrow-bodied aircraft cabin. Take the case of the typical 150-seats aircraft cabin; we have analyzed various parts of cabin design.(2) We have developed a parameterized design of one kind of narrow-bodied aircraft cabin. In the preliminary phase of the aircraft designing, designers are relieved of repetitive manual operation, owing to the quickly generated interior layout design and the fuselage cross-section shape model of the cabin section, which offer the tool for the designing. Take the case of the typical 150-seats aircraft cabin; we have introduced the parameterized method of cabin designing.(3) With the application of CATIA software, we have achieved the parameter optimization of the fuselage cross-section shape, which could generate an optimal cross-section shape of the fuselage cabin section after the main control parameters have been determined.(4) We have established the maximum take-off weight model of a civilian aircraft. Analysis of the effect of various design parameters on the aircraft maximum take-off weight has provided the relations between the cabin comfort and the weight of the aircraft.(5) We have established the aerodynamic analysis model of a civil aircraft, contrasted effects of different plans on the lift-drag ratio and zero-lift drag, and provided the relations between the aerodynamic characteristics and cabin comfort. The above mentioned design and application show that our parameterized cabin design and optimized fuselage cross-section shape model of cabin section could accelerate the sureness of the design. And through the appropriate analysis of the weight and aerodynamic characteristics, we could optimize a design with better aerodynamic characteristics and more comfortable cabin. Our work should provide the more convenient methods and rapid tools for the cabin design of larger passenger aircraft.
