With the increasement of vehicles ownership in our country, the problem of continuously increasing pollution emissions from vehicles and shortage of oil resources are becoming more and more severe, for which Looking for a clean and renewable alternative energy has become the development trend of the automotive industry. For the automotive industry, hydrogen fuel for it's unique features such as renewable and non-pollution has tremendous advantages. However, when the engine uses hydrogen fuel, the problem of preignition, back fire, power descend come forth, as which development of hydrogen engine dedicated electronic controller is an effective solution of means. At present, it is very difficult to modify gasoline engine electric control system parameters to be suited by the hydrogen, generally speaking for the reason that gasoline engine electric control system is relative solidifying, and control parameters is limited by the gasoline engine, further more , The underlying software design is core secrets. Therefore,in this paper, a hydrogen engine control system with independent intellectual property rights is designed, and as a platform to study the problem of the hydrogen engine exception combustion .In this paper, electronic control system hardware includes digital acquisition processing circuit, analog acquisition and processing circuit, control unit microprocessor circuit, power output driver circuit ,serial communication circuit, CAN communication circuit and BDM based on Freescale microprocessors MC9S12XS128. According to hydrogen engine injection valve characteristics, the injection valve drive circuit is designed with the function of quickly opening the valve at the moment of high current and keeping opened status at the moment of little current. By the above design, hydrogen injection valve increased response speed, reduced consumption,and the problem of valve thermal damage was effectively resolved. Backfire fault detection circuit was designed owing to backfire fault. Circuit design contained various anti-interference measure,besides,OrCAD PSpice---Hardware simulation software was used to detect the circuit.In accordance with overall electronic control system software architecture, program and core control strategy such as hydrogen jet, igniting, and inhibition of backfire and preignition, the engine control program was designed based on the software tool CodeWarrior IDE.According to the working characteristics of hydrogen engine, Hydrogen Engine Electronic Control System was designed, and in this paper, detailed electrical control system design of hardware and some software programs were discussed. Finally, electronic control system debugging was arranged at the engine test bench, and the result indicated that this system can steadily control hydrogen engine run and effectively restrain backfire.
