Abstract/Summary:
The development of modern road puts forward a more and more request to the pavement. The road should have a more safety.economy and comforty functions and use quality not just only satisfied with the basic request.The safety function of pavement is the most important point. Skid resistance of pavement affects road safety significantly indicated by many researches and studies in the world. Generally, skid resistance of a new road pavement degraded rapidly due to vehicle polishing in a short time. A study on the course of degradation of asphalt pavement accounted for this problem would be very important.Mechanism of skid resistance and factors influence on that are analyzed based on Tribology in this paper. Then an accelerated polishing device is fabricated based on related material polishing device and researches.One component of the tests is unpolished specimens skid resistance test. Analyze of gradation and Max. Nominal Size how to affect initial value of BPN and MTD is conducted using outcome of unpolished specimens skid resistance test. Then the study employs exponential model and logarithmic model to simulate relation between BPN&MTD and load repetition numbers. Accord to the regression curve, regularity of asphalt pavement surface degradation is analyzed.The paper introduces the regularity of porosity influencing on asphalt pavement surface degradation.The same kind of pavement gradation will have different porosity. Because of the difference of porosity, the regularity of pavement is very different.Regarding dense mixture, oversized and too small factor of porosity will make the pavement's anti-skid capability decay quickly.In the end, Considering different experimental conditions such as the property of stone, the type of asphalt and load intensity,the study of slide attenuation for AC-13 asphalt mixtures have been completed.With the test data and analysis result, anti-slide attenuation of AC-13 asphalt mixtures under different conditions is obtained in this paper.
