With huge improvements of the economic benefits in the high-speed railway technology and the strengthening of the environmental protection consciousness in international society, as well as filling the requirements for the strategy of sustainable development, these has brought fresh waves of constructing and researching on the high-speed railway from the mid-90s of last century all over the world. At the same time, as the environmental awareness and the aesthetic faculties for the people has increased over the years, the requirements for the high-speed railways and other civil engineering on the landscape has becoming higher and higher. So naturally, the construction of high-speed railway landscape is the vital content of building the high-speed railway.The thesis was based on the National Science Foundation of China (50878214) and Study of the Landscape Designing for Jing-Hu High-speed Railway (2008G032-12) which is the major projects of the national Jing-Hu high-speed railway and also the sub research project of the technological program of Ministry of Railways. Considering of the landscape problems that may meet during the process of constructing the high-speed railway, the author has carried out the research work as follows:First of all, this paper summarized and concluded the basic concepts and theories involved in the landscape EIA in the high-speed railway construction.Secondly, the author did a detailed classification of high-speed railway Landscape and figured out evaluation index system of the high-speed railway Landscape the assessment method which is suitable for evaluation method in this paper according to the characteristics of high-speed railway landscape. Meanwhile, after analyzing and summarizing the method of high-speed railway landscape, the feasible research method was set based on the landscape sensitivity and landscape value model, as well as the calculation of the model by GIS.Thirdly, under the guidance of the ecological restoration, the environmental aesthetics and the Landscape Ecology, this paper did some researches on the protection of the high-speed railway. The author summarized the general principles and presented the common during the high-speed railway landscape protection and in the end, some suggestions and measures on Jing-Hu high-speed railway landscape protection was set out from the following five aspects, including bridge landscape, tunnel landscape, sub grade and slope landscape, railway stations landscape and noise barriers landscape.Fourthly, the GIS-based program for Landscape EIA in high-speed railway has taken shape initially through the secondary development by using Visual Basic 2005 and ArcEngine9.2. Aiming at giving full play to the analyzing function of the GIS spatial data and with the help of the data processing function of SQL Server 2005, this program has provide providing accurate data support to the landscape EIA in high-speed railway.Finally, the paper did the assessment on the construction of the Dingyuan section in Jing-Hu high-speed railway and then put forward a series of suggestions and feasible measures for the protection of this district.
