With the rapid development of National economy, greater and greater energy demand will be created for supplies. And the development and utilization of hydropower which is a green energy will be more and more important. At the same time, well formed geological conditions can be used to place the spillway of Earth-rockfill Dam are becoming less and less, especially in those rivers with high mountain crest. It will sharply increse the excavated volume if we place the spillway on the high bank slope, and the high slope formed after excavation is difficult to deal with. Now people come up with the conception of overfall spillway, it means we can put the spillway directly on the top of the Earth-rockfill Dam to predigest the layout of hydroproject and reduce construction cost. However, it's unknown that whether the overfall spillways are steady enough to resist the impact of high velocity flow, especially those of high dams, the safety of chute bottom plate will endure big threat. This essay will study the force analysis of the chute bottom plate of overfall spillway of Earth-rockfill Dam. The multilayer horizontal reinforce is introduced to the chute bottom plate to combine it and the dam as a whole in order to ensure it's stability with high velocity flow. According to the analysis and computation of it's stability against sliding, we can build such a mathematical model to analysis and calculate the stability of chte bottom plate by using the knowledge of mechanics and the theory of structural reliability. To find out the relationl theory among the angle of downstream batter, the length of chute bottom plate and the anchorage depth and infer the safety factor against sliding of chute bottom plate as well. Then, we will analysis the structure by the theory of structural reliability to assure it's a service life and provide theory gist for the design of hydro-project.
