Transmission system single-line diagram is one in which the lines connection between substations and the internal substation line connection of primary equipments including themselves are all shown together. There have less research about this subject present, and this issue can be split into two part: the automatic layout and routing of the external substation diagram model and the assemble of the internal substation diagram model.Transmission system single-line diagram is professional placement and routing problem with its own characteristics. The main research contents are as follows:In the first, in the introduction it describes some layout optimization problem and optimization algorithm, then introduce the research significance of the transmission system single-line diagram and the present situation of application in the method of the transmission system single-line diagram are presented. It puts forward the research content of this topic.Then, it introduces some background knowledge which are used in the course of the study. These knowledge include SVG technology, routing principle, automatic routing regulation and the process of the principle of particle swarm optimization etc..Under the study on the existed research and achievement, a novel improved automatic generation algorithm is proposed as followings: an internal and external substation diagram model is proposed, and the initial problem is prototyped as external substation diagram as electronic components with rectangle base, to be assembled into several parallel arranged slot with standard slot unit, and routing the lines inside the horizontal corridor upper on the slot and vertical corridor neighbored the slot; so that the initial problem is decomposed into a two-stage problem in sequence but without coupling; the first stage is a layout and routing optimization based on external substation diagram model; the positions of outgoing lines from some bus are supposed be exchangeable, in this case, the coordinates of outgoing lines of internal substation diagram will be changed according to first stage optimization result, otherwise the total transmission system diagram is just the result of first stage with the box embedded with the single-line diagram of substation; a comprehensive formula of intersection number and the Manhattan distance of lines is taken as the objective function; an improved particle swarm optimal algorithm for assembling of the external substation rectangle, followed by a carefully designed algorithm for line routing, composes a total solution. Case study shows that the generated single-line diagram has the advantage of clear and clean with less intersection number and even layout.Then, it introduces the assemble of the internal substation diagram model and the automatic generation of SVG graphics which based on Java program. And finally, we get the complete transmission system single-line diagram by our optimization, it shows that the docking was perfect and the diagram has the advantage of clear and clean with less intersection number and even layout.Finally, some beneficial conclusions have been drawn and some prospect and consideration in the future have been put forward for more studying in the end.
