Ship collision can always cause a series of disastrous consequences such as the structure damage, cargo leakage, environmental pollution and casualties. Therefore, it has great significance not from the standpoint of the economy, security, but from the perspective of environmental protection to research and improve the anti-vibration of vessels.The study of ship collision involves many subjects and fields. The analysis of ship structure collision demands to synthesize many kinds of knowledge includes structure dynamics, fracture mechanics, plastic mechanics, material mechanics and water dynamics. Moreover, it still needs to master the use of finite element and its theoretical analysis. Therefore, the study of the ship collision is quite complicated.There are more fishing vessels and the courses are very complicated in China's coastline. Collisions between foreign ships and Chinese fishing vessels are of frequent occurrence and result in disastrous effects for the marine environment and life and property. I analyze and summarize the current status of research on ship collisions combined with practical collision cases as well as sums up the basic principles and key technology for nonlinear finite element method of ship collisions in this paper. On this basis, the collision process is simulated by explicit dynamic module in ANSYS Workbench and studies the collision resistance performance of the ship from the aspect of collision force, deformation and energy absorption.
