ABSTRACT:Signalized intersection is not only an important node in urban roads, but also the bottleneck of the transport network。Based on the operational characteristics of urban roads, especially a large number of intersections are isolated, and the terrific mixed traffic, and pedestrians,bicycles and motor vehicles gathering and separating at the intersection, they each struggle for time and space resources, which makes greater interference and confliction。Experience has shown that, in order to find the problems of the intersection and urban traffic, improve road traffic congestion and optimize the road network, we need calculate and evaluate a reasonable service level of the intersections。Currently most of the evaluations about the urban signaled intersection are based on foreign experience, but not fully integrated with the characteristics of our mixed traffic。Or considering the motor and non-motor reality, the evaluation index are based on the efficiency and safety of vehicle, but never including the efficiency of the pedestrians and bicycles。Firstly, this article reviews the indicators and methods of service level both at home and abroad, and then analyzes the service level factors。Combining with timing and simulation Synchro software, as well as the DEA and AHP, we analyze the foundation of signaled intersection service level。Secondly, combining the existing evaluating indicators, this article introduces pedestrian delays and pedestrian traffic capacity, and also a new method of calculating the pedestrian traffic capacity which is based on the probability of pedestrian walking through the street。Taking Hohhot SiMao for example, through surveys,analysis and simulation experiments, we analyze and demarcate the parameters which has effect on service level, and do simulation about the right-turn motor vehicle's efficiency coefficient under the influence of pedestrian or bicycles by Synchro。Finally, we verify the proposed indicators based on actual survey data。At the same time, we use Matlab to assay and calculate the service level automatically, and it proves the practical and rationality of the indicators。...
