With the implementation of the national energy saving plan and the development of the electricity price bidding policy, reducing the cost of production has become an urgent problem besides ensuring safety in the thermal power industry in our country. In order to keep the power plant at a high-level operation state, the thermal economical performance index of power plant is needed to obtain timely in the operation, and the factors that affect the normal operation of unit are needed to analyze and parameters are needed to adjust. So monitoring the operation of equipment and calculating every economic indicator are needed to guide the operation personnel to adjust the operation parameters.As the existing thermal system equipment performance monitoring softwares of power plant are expensive, and most of which are lack of flexibility and developed according to the specific unit. On the purpose of generality, applicability and simpleness, by using modular modeling method, the thermal system equipment performance monitoring software of power plant is developed. By researching of the calculation model and operation mechanism of thermal system equipment of power plant, the model library of the universal thermal system equipment is established by Miscrosoft Visio. The computing functions of turbine, heater, condenser, and other equipment modular are developed. The graphical solution is constructed. The Computing Toolbox is developed by MATLAB. System model and the calculation program are interoperate by ActiveX.The equipments and pipes are needed to be numbered when modeling the thermal system and calculation thermodynamic parameters. The process of numbering is cumbersome and fallible, when the scale of the system is large. The modeling and simulation method on the thermal system of the thermal power plant is discussed. A method of autonumber in the process of modeling of equipments and pipes is presented based on the secondary development of Microsoft Visio. The implementation mechanism of the autonumber technology is introduced.And then, the significance, content and model of deviation analysis were described; some typical methods of determining the target value of unit operating parameters are described emphatically.Finally, a real power plant was introduced. And the modeling, heat balance calculation, economic indicators calculation and deviation analysis were applied on the plant. The result proved the effectiveness and practical of the proposed methods.
