Study On The Rheology Of SBS Modified Asphalt And The Dose Of SBS

According modified asphalt to the problems of evaluating the road performance of the SBS with the Chinese Road Modified Asphalt Technical Standards using currently, lots of rheological experiments and Gel permeation chromatography analysis are acted with different conditions. In this paper, two base asphalt types representing two oil sources and four modifiers(two line types and two star type)are processed. This paper discusses the relation among dosage of SBS, experiment temperature, shearing rate and the rheological characteristics of SBS modified asphalt, on this basis, the index of evaluating the production quality of SBS modified asphalt is proposed, the basis of controlling the construction quality of SBS modified asphalt is provided, and the new control method for dosage of SBS is proposed.Conclusions of the paper:Through the analyses of modified asphalt with different variety and different SBS dosage in rheological experiments under different experiment condition, such as different temperature, different shearing rate and so on, the relation between the dosage of SBS and viscosity of SBS modified asphalt is obtained, the basis of evaluating the quality of SBS modified asphalt in rheological performance is provided.Through the microscopic analyses of modified asphalt with different variety and different SBS dosage in Gel permeation chromatography, the relation between the dosage of SBS and the area ratio of Spectrum of SBS modified asphalt is obtained. the basis of evaluating the quality of SBS modified asphalt in thermal performance Microscopic analysis is provided.On the basis of analyzing the rheological characteristics and Gel permeation chromatography of SBS modified asphalt in the paper to provide the certain theories for effective modifications and reasonable applications to asphalt engineering.
