Study On The Traffic Signal Control Design Of The Urban Intersection

With the rapid social and economic development and the dramatic urbanized procession, many Chinese cities are severely suffering from the traffic congestions and a series followingproblems like environmental pollutions. It's also very important aspects to improve transport efficiency, in addition to traffic demand and increasing transport facilities.The intersection of urban road is a bottleneck of the urban road traffic. The improvement of the efficiency of urban signalized intersection can be achieved mainly through the rational design in traffic signal control.It is a problem needing badly being studied that how to fully utilize the existing spatial resource of the urban signalized intersection, in order to realize the high-efficient, secure, orderly running of the road traffic. The thesis exactly based on this problem researches to the traffic signal control design of the urban intersection.The thesis based on traffic flow theory, firstly, the auther analysisthe traffic flow characteristics and of traffic conflicts of urban signalized intersection, and proposed solutions to traffic conflict. On this basis, according to the actual conditions of the urban signalized intersection of our country, the content, goal, principle and step of the traffic signal control design of the urban intersection are proposed; Secondly, in order to make the traffic signal control to play the best results for signalized intersections, the space environment of intersections were analyzed and researched. Mainly including match and determine number of import lanes and export lanes, the lane function split method, the implementation and drainage measures of different modes of transportation method. Thirdly, in traffic signal timing design of the signalized intersection, Intersection signal cycle of the signal were analyzed, and established the optimization model in saturated intersection. Then, the combination and optimization of the resources of space-time are analyzed and researched, proposed some aspects which are required coordinated and integrated design of space-time, as well as space-time integration problems that need attention.Finally, taking the signalized intersection in the district of Xi'an as an example, applying the theory and method studied in this thesis, the intersection of Taibai south road and electronic one road is carried on concrete traffic design.
