Dynamic compaction machine as an integral part of a large foundation construction equipment, widely used in the mountains fill deposition, Land reclamation and other building foundation treatment. Dynamic compaction machine is currently no national standards for design and manufacturing. However, due to the work of the special dynamic compaction, crawler cranes can not entirely replace the role of dynamic compaction machine. This paper aims to design a monitoring system that can make the machine run more secure, and reduce equipment maintenance costs, improve equipment utilization and so on. This paper is based on theoretical research, simulation and modeling and experimental analysis. Use the monitoring device which is based on microelectronics for dynamic compaction equipment to achieve the measurement of tamping depth, and to diagnose the hydraulic system fault, in order to improve the safety and reliability of the system. This paper is based on the project which jointly developed by mechanical Engineering Institute of Chang'an University and Hangzhou Heavy Machinery Co. Ltd. It has developed the high-performance DSP-based dynamic compaction machine monitoring system. It has realized the fault diagnosis for hydraulic system and the tamping depth measurement. At the same time it has the function for Chinese display with touch screen and record history data, and can print and use the USB to store the data. The main work is as follows:Analysis of hydraulic system fault diagnosis system and the background of the measurement of tamping depth; determined the methods of compaction machine control system; SOM neural network based pattern recognition of hydraulic fault; DSP-based data acquisition and processing system hardware design; DSP-based data system software design; debugging and experimental of the prototype.
