With the rapid development of science and technology in modern industry, fault diagnosis has drawn increasing attention from people of related field. The development of the computer technology, testing technology, information technology and intelligence technology stimulate the rapid development of hydraulic servo system fault diagnosis. The diagnosis techniques has reached a new phase, which is intelligent diagnosis phase. In this paper, further research is taken on the basic of BP networks and fault diagnosis.This paper summarizes the amounts of literature, compares the methods of fault diagnosis and points out the advantage and disadvantage. According to the complexity of hydraulic servo system, this paper takes neutral networks as main method of intelligent fault diagnosis. Statistic technique is used in selection of fault diagnosis symptom, which reduces the input node of neutral network, and keeps the effect at the same time. This simplifies the neutral network configure. Otherwise, this paper presents a method to improve the result of neutral networks by coupling degree matrix, and obtains good effect in emulates and experiments.According to the characteristic and requirement of hydraulic servo system, this paper constitutes the intelligent fault diagnosis system based on BP neutral network, and perform the emulate and experiment on the hydraulic servo system. The result shows good effect and proves the validity of the methods, and has a certain significance aiming at accelerating the intelligent and fast fault diagnosis of hydraulic servo system.
