Research Of Dalian Coastal Road Landscape Design

The southern tip of Liaoning Province--Dalian is an important coastal port city, It is also a famous summer resort and tourist city, in the main urban areas completed an 35 kilometers' coastal road. It is an important place for the urban public to live, entertainment or intercourse. It's also a perfect place for creating city functions, city image. And it plays a vital role for leading the improvement of urban quality. The development and construction of coastal road have been working closely with the combination of urban construction in Dalian, and it has becoming the driving force of urban development.Dalian Coastal Road Landscape Design is the main research object of this paper. By exploring the relevant theory, the author made a deeply discussion with the concept, function, type, elements, sight-viewing mode of coastal road. And to do for the characteristics of Dalian coastal road landscape design, the author also discussed the differences between eastern and western aesthetics, the environmental behavior, the theory of sustainable development and practice of modern landscape design, oriental traditional gardening practices.By making the use of the analysis method, we made a research of the overview of the city of Dalian and the construction of coastal road, analyzed the landscape features under the influence of the regional and the natural history of human environment of Dalian. Making a research of the natural landscape elements and the cultural landscape elements of the western coastal road, southern coastal road, eastern coastal road and northern coastal road. Analysis the distribution of the landscape elements, summed up the key sections of the different landscapes and features of the coastal road. At the same time, making a research of the status of Dalian coastal road, summarized the achievements and the shortages. On this basis, proposed the main principle of the landscape design of Dalian coastal road.Finally, take the western coastal road of Dalian as an example, make recommendations of the landscape design on space design, plants design, node design and viewing platform design. I hope this paper will make some help for the future development of the landscape of Coastal Road in Dalian and other cities.
