The paper analyzes the structure and studies the lightweight methods of a van military power vehicle by applying the software ANSYS Workbench12.1.The strength and stiffness are the frame's basic requirements. The paper studies the strength and stiffness of the compartment as to ascertain the structure's displacement and von mises stress, so that the defects of design can be found out. And the conclusion can give references for the following optimization. The paper mainly selects four working conditions to study the situation of displacement and stress as follows: static flex (uniform motion in the straight line), static torsion (the road is steep), hard brake and hard turn.For the situation of traffic is complicated, the paper calculates the Vibration modes and gets the car body's natural frequency and modes, based on the static analysis. Carry out random vibration analysis by using the road displacement spectrum, finally the software calculates the von mises stress of two conditions based on modal analysis's results. The results show that the vehicle bears the maximum load when it is moving on gravel road at a speed of 40 kilometers per second.The paper optimizes the beams'section's parameters for the lightweight design based on large optimization soft ware by parametric modeling.The finite element analysis provides valid theory and methods for the simulation and optimization of the van vehicle and dynamic capacity through the paper's study. And the study ways of this paper can give some reference points to the design of some other special van vehicles.
