In recent years, with the rapid development of the international shipping industry on River and Coastal Connection, puts forward a higher demand for River and Coastal Connection, for example, existing river/sea ship more energy-saving, environmental protection and economical and airworthiness.River and Coastal Connection belong to a low-speed hypertrophy ship. From view of resistance point, this kind of ship, line is plump, wet surface area is great, Fourier is lower than other ships, so that in the total resistance,viscous resistances represents a significant proportion. In its wake, caused by the wave-making and potential are smalle, wake caused by friction is its main ingredients, so in the numerical simulation the wake caused by wave-making and potential can be neglected;This paper mainly content is to change the shape of a River and Coastal Connection's stem, then calculate the hydrodynamic of changed modles' and compared it with the original ship's. Currently experimentation and fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation is mainly used for testing hydrodynamic of ships. besides calculation, CFD also can performance more image about hydrodynamic outside, then with the displayed flow field image we can change the shape of ship better.With the development of computer hardware and CFD technology, the position of CFD analysis in the ships' study is growing up, the main reason is:shipping CFD don't need special test equipment; Can reduce model test times or no need to do model test; and by calculations we also Can get more information from flow field we want or carry on the multiple computing; So as to analyze ships'hydrodynamic more convenient when it be changed on. To use CFD we alse can choose the optimization of ship types.because it can Avoid "scale effect" so when the CFD technology used to forecasting the hydrodynamic reality ship will performance better effect.Maxsurf is used to change the ship hull and observe the profile curve of the ship when changing, then use former processor software GAMBIT to formation models, computing the grid then use FLUENT to calculations, Finally to choose the ship hull modle and summarizes the experience by changing ship hull.In this study, we can see that the ship CFD in ship line modifications has its unique advantages.we can convenient analysis each place of flow field, change ship hull more better. While in many scheme optimization design, the advantage of ship CFD is more apparent, by its visual effect, we can get any information we want, it also convenient comparison of different scheme of ship desing and selection better scheme.
