30 years of reform and opening promote rapid economic growth, with the rising of automobile possession in our country, the crash accident happens. In particular, the side impact accident happened the most frequently and makes the most dead and injury in all of the accidents. So the major car companies and research institutions input a larger effort on the side of the car crash. In July 2006, the regulation of side impact has carried out, which will promote the research of side impact.Door's strength and stiffness have a great impact on occupant injury, and strength of side doors is specified in the side impact regulation. The Finite Element Method is applied to optimize the side-door impact beam of the car's front door. And validate it by putting the optimized beam into the front door model. Through these get the experience of side impact simulation and find new ways of automobile side impact.Based On nonlinear finite element theory, through the simulation of the test by using LS-DYNA and the research of influencing factors on simulation, a modeling way of nonlinear finite element analysis is acquired. After that, some questions of modeling on nonlinear finite element and the selecting of controlling factors during the simulation. Then, according to the requirement of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards intensity test of side door(FMVSS2 1 4), the simple model that the door impacting with the rigid pole is set up. On the basis of the model, the structural performance of car door is analyzed, and the car side impact performance is simulated according to concerned regulations. After calculating, the crashworthy analysis to the door is carried through, and the beams optimized ale put into the door model, by comparing with the door fixing the primary beam, The side door ban takes place of the side door beam and it is optimized under the situation of side impact. The side door ban is installed in origin vehicle and the vehicle has another side impact simulation. This time the result is better than the origin one in deformation, energy absorbing, stress distributing which proves the optimization.
