In recent years, with the rapid development of the railway, rail grinding train plays an increasing role in the railway maintenance. However, our major rail grinding trains are mostly imported from abroad, the core technology is still dominated by developed countries. Therefore, to accelerate the domestic development of rail grinding train will play a positive role in ensuring the safety of rail transportation, in extending wheel and rail life and in improving passengers' comfort.Rail grinding test bench is a necessary test equipment in the domestic development of rail grinding train, its key components have the same structural characteristics and performance with rail grinding train. Rail grinding mechanism is the actuator while rail grinding, it plays a key role in grinding as required. The research for dynamic characteristics of grinding mechanism can provides a theoretical reference for the domestic development of rail grinding train.In this paper, the rail grinding mechanism of rail grinding test bench will be studied. At first, this paper analyzed the structural features and running conditions of rail grinding mechanism, on the principle of simplifying mechanical model, established the simplified model of rail grinding mechanism, then used finite element method and dynamic analysis method of elastic mechanism to establish the dynamic model of rail grinding mechanism, got the differential equations of motion for the key components and the system.Then, by using the ANSYS Workbench software, did the body mesh and boundary treatment for the rail grinding mechanism model, got the system's top ten natural frequencies and mode shapes through the modal simulation to the rail grinding mechanism, got the key components' displacement response curves under certain exciting force through harmonic response simulation.At last, based on dynamic simulation results, this paper proposed three types of structural optimization programs, and by comparing results of all the programs, chose the best system structural optimization program, and ensured the dynamic characteristics of rail grinding mechanism to meet the design requirements.
