Geographic information system is to collect, store, manage, describe and analyze the geographical distribution of the Earth's surface related data information systems. Transportation is an important application of GIS, due to its spatial characteristics and the unique nature of applications, application of GIS in transportation is called a special term GIS-T. Most of the existing GIS only describe the instantaneous state of data, if the data changes, the new data will replace the old data, old data will disappear, can not analyze the update changes of data, and can not predict the future trends, this is the static GIS. In many application areas (Cadastral Alteration, Environmental Monitoring, Disaster Relief, Traffic Management, etc.) require GIS to manage and process the information of time, this is TGIS(Temporal GIS), which can be process geographic information both in time and space. The key issues of TGIS is to establish the right spatial-temporal data model. After several decades of research, a variety of road network data models have been proposed, however, these models rarely consider the dynamic traffic information elements, unable to meet the needs of traffic information fusion, automatic identification of traffic status and emergency traffic control decision. Therefore, studying on the Spatial-temporal Data Model Based on the Integration of Road Network and Dynamic Traffic Information is necessary.Stemming from the National High-tech Research and Development Program (863 Program):R&D of intelligent guidence software and application systems based on dynamic information, analyze the existing modeling method of spatial-temporal data model, based on the study of existing spatial-temporal data model, considering dynamic traffic information, establish A Spatial-temporal Data Model Based on the Integration of Road Network and Dynamic Traffic Information.This research consists of five chapters. The main works and contributions are described as follows:Chapter 1:Introduction. This part firstly introduce the research background and research status, then based on the study of existing spatial-temporal data model, proposed to establish a Spatial-temporal Data Model Based on the Integration of Road Network and Dynamic Traffic Information. Finally, the technical line and structural framework of this paper is given.Chapter 2:Modeling foundation of spatial-temporal data model. First introduced the time-space concept of geography world, then analyze the existing spatial-temporal data model, summarized the main problems of existing spatial-temporal data model and the development of spatial-temporal data model, finally, propose some problems which must be solved in the modeling of spatial-temporal data.Chapter 3:Modeling for a Spatial-temporal Data Model Based on the Integration of Road Network and Dynamic Traffic Information. According to the modeling hierarchy of spatial-temporal data model, design conceptual data model, logical data model and physical data model successively.Chapter 4:Design and Implementation of Experimental System.This part firstly analyze system requirements, and then design and build a spatial-temporal database based on the integration of road network and dynamic traffic information. Finally, introduced the application of the model in the process of system function, theoretical results of this paper was verified.Chapter 5:Summary and Prospect. A summation was made to generalize the work in this paper. And suggestions were proposed for further research and improvement.
