Today, Automobile industry has been developing rapidly. People pay more and more attention to traffic accidents. We can find from the car accident investigation that, besides human factors, parts of Auto mechanical components that damaged is the second factor to cause accidents. Vehicle Steering System is a pivotal part which has big influence on vehicle's control stability, drive safety and comfort. One component of the system is damaged can cause accidents.Electric power steering system gets popular than hydraulic steering system because it has many advantages such as Light quality, energy saving, environmental protecting, make higher steering performance and so on. This article will take EPS as the research object. Select the Rack-EPS, comparison analysis results between the deformation rod ball with the normal rod ball, then simulate the result in the full-Vehicle model and do some Full-Vehicle Analysis, check the influence of The EPS that has deformation rod bring to the Vehicle road safety, provide the basis for structure optimization and improvement.Firstly, select the Rack-EPS as the research object, research the relationship between some parts that influence the rod ball. The assembly drawing is been simplified and extract a simple model, the model is divided into six parts. Then establish the six parts by Pro/E and assemble them. Meanwhile, the paper summarizes the problems and the solving methods in the course of modeling.Secondly, the paper analyses the model by finite element theory. Through selecting material attribute, dividing grid, establishing contacts with complete the analysis work. The result shows that the neck of the rod ball, pin and rubber are the places that easy to occur deformation. And this result is conformed to a deformed rod ball that had been used for a long time. Provide the basis for improving EPS.Lastly, using Vehicle simulation technology, establish the Full-Vehicle model. Based on the analysis results of the rod ball, modify some parameters to simulate the deformation of rod ball in ADAMS, then compare analysis results between the deformation rod ball with the normal rod ball. Then do some Full-Vehicle Analysis such as Drift and Impulse steer Analysis and compare the results. Compare the car that has deformed rod ball with normal car, we can see that the car with deformed rod ball will bring some influence in some parameters such as vehicle path, pitch angle, roll angle, yaw acceleration, velocity and so on. And these parameters are the important parameters that measure vehicle playability and safety. The influence that deformed rod ball take to the parameters will bring hidden trouble of Vehicle safety.This paper studies, provide some referable ideas and basis for analysis of the automobile and automobile parts, structure analysis and Full-Vehicle Analysis. And give automobile structure optimization design and improvement direction. We can solve dynamic optimization problems of auto complex structure, have certain engineering application value.
